No. Power BI Connector for SAP uses an Import and refresh model through an OData endpoint.
It supports scheduled refresh and Power BI incremental refresh. For SAP HANA DirectQuery, evaluate Microsoft’s native SAP HANA connector.
Is Power BI Connector for SAP a Real-Time Integration?
No. SAP data is updated in Power BI when the semantic model refreshes.
The connector does not cache SAP data, so every refresh queries SAP again. Report freshness depends on the refresh schedule configured in Power BI.
Does Power BI Connector for SAP Run in SAP BTP?
Yes. Power BI Connector for SAP is deployed through SAP Business Technology Platform.
On-Premise and Private Cloud environments use SAP Cloud Connector. S/4HANA Public Cloud uses Communication Arrangements and does not require SAP Cloud Connector.
Does the Connector Store a Copy of SAP Data?
No. Power BI Connector for SAP does not maintain a separate cache or staging database containing SAP business data.
Power BI imports and stores data in its semantic model according to the configured refresh schedule.

Yes. A connector data source can include multiple approved SAP OData services.
