Power BI Connector for SAP is a managed enterprise connector. The setup involves configuration on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) side that we handle as part of onboarding — you don’t need to deploy or self-serve anything.
1. Get in touch #
Start from our listing on the SAP Store:
Metrica Software — Power BI Connector for SAP on the SAP Store

Request a quote directly from the listing, or reach out via Contact Support with a short description of your environment:
- Your SAP backend (S/4HANA On-Premise, Private Cloud, or Public Cloud — see Supported SAP Systems).
- Approximate user count.
- Any specific requirements or timelines.
We’ll confirm compatibility with your setup and share pricing.
2. What Metrica handles #
As part of onboarding, we take care of subscribing the connector to your SAP BTP subaccount, and we work with your team through the SAP-side setup and any troubleshooting.
For most customers this is a short engagement — a few working sessions.
3. What you’ll configure on your side #
Once the subscription is in place, your BTP administrator (and, for on-premise, your SAP Basis administrator) completes the SAP-side integration. Each of the following has a dedicated guide:
- SAP Destination Service entry connecting the connector to your S/4HANA backend — see Configure Your SAP Environment.
- On-Premise / Private Cloud only: SAP Cloud Connector plus SAP-side configuration (technical user, OData service activation, PFCG role, business authorizations) — see On-Premise SAP Configuration.
- S/4HANA Public Cloud only: Communication User, Communication System, and Communication Arrangements in your S/4HANA tenant — see S/4HANA Public Cloud.
- User role assignments in the BTP cockpit (Admin and User role collections) — see Application Permissions Setup.
4. Start using the connector #
When your environment is ready, we’ll share access to your connector instance. From there you can:
- Sign in with your SAP identity.
- Browse the SAP services available in your backend and configure data sources over them.
- Create personal access tokens for Power BI.
- Connect Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service to the data source’s OData URL.
