The connector supports several subscription plans. This page covers what changes between them and how the app surfaces the trial state so you don’t hit it by surprise.
Plans at a glance #
- Trial — time-boxed evaluation. Capped to [TBD] data sources per tenant. Power BI exports stop working when the trial ends; the management UI remains accessible so you can decide what to do with your data sources.
- Standard / Enterprise — production plans. No per-tenant cap on data sources. The plan is configured in the HubSpot Settings by an administrator.

How the app tells you about the trial #
Two places surface trial state:
- Header banner — appears under the toolbar on every page while the tenant is on the trial plan. The message updates as the trial progresses: how many days remain, “ends today”, or “expired”.
- Data Sources page banner — appears on top of the list specifically when you’ve reached the per-tenant cap. The Create button is also disabled with a tooltip explaining the cap.
What happens when you hit the cap #
- Create — disabled. Tooltip says trial allows [TBD] data sources at most.
- Clone — fails with HTTP 402. The connector explains the failure in a toast.
- Edit / Save on an existing data source — not affected. You can keep refining the data sources you have.
- Delete — frees a slot. Deleting one data source re-enables the Create button immediately.
The 2-data-source cap is a per-tenant value, not per-user. If two users on the same trial tenant each create one data source, neither can create a third.
What happens when the trial expires #
- Power BI exports stop — the consumer OData endpoint returns an error. Every scheduled refresh in the Power BI service starts failing.
- The management UI keeps working — you can still sign in, browse, edit, share, and even create new data sources (up to the cap). Only the data path is blocked.
- Access tokens are not revoked — they’re just inactive on the data path. After an upgrade they resume working.
Upgrading #
Plan changes happen in the HubSpot Settings, not in the connector. An administrator finds the subscription under Instances and Subscriptions, opens the row actions (the three dots), and selects Update to switch plans. After the cockpit confirms the change, the connector picks up the new plan within a minute — refresh the page to clear the trial banner.
